The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Professional in a pool. During your adventure, you'll master some basic concepts and scuba skills.
One hour of theory
One hour of pool skills & fun
COST: $49.99 plus tax.
DATES AND BOOKING: Discover Scuba courses and Refresher scuba courses are done on the same nights as the regular Open Water class/pool sessions, which are typically Sunday and Monday evenings. Discover and Refresher sessions are not run side by side on the same nights, so it is on an interest/first come first serve basis that we run the courses. Aka, if an individual or group signs up a Discover Scuba on the Sunday night, then for that week, the Refresher course will default to Monday night, or vice versa.
WHEN BOOKING YOUR DISCOVER SCUBA SESSION, INDICATE IN THE "COMMENTS" FIELD OF THE CHECKOUT PAGE, WHICH EVENING YOU HAVE IN MIND. IF THERE IS A CONFLICT BASED ON ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL'S PRIOR BOOKING, WE WILL CONTACT YOU VIA EMAIL IN ORDER TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATE ADJUSTMENT, USUALLY EITHER ONE NIGHT PROIR OR AFTER THE INITAL DATE DESIRED.
*Discover Scuba is not a requirement to take the PADI Open Water Diver course.
Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. PADI dive shops offer this program either in a pool, off a beach or from a dive boat. You can try scuba close to home or while you’re on vacation at a dive destination. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.
To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.
You learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. If you make an open water dive, you’ll practice a few more skills in shallow water to prepare for your adventure. Get ready to:
- Go over the scuba equipment you use to dive and how easy it is to move around underwater with your gear.
- Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater.
- Learn key skills that you’ll use during every scuba dive.
- Have fun swimming around and exploring.
